ACCA Establishes Dedicated Team for "Presidential Sejong Office Construction"

The Administrative City Construction Agency (ACCA) announced on January 6 that it has established the "Presidential Sejong Office Construction Team," which will be dedicated to the construction of the Presidential Sejong Office, and held a plaque unveiling ceremony on the same day.

The Presidential Sejong Office Construction Team consists of three departments: the Presidential Office, the National Symbolic Zone Development Team, and the Communication and Cooperation Team. It will integrate the functions of design, project management, and external cooperation. The team will also be responsible for supporting the construction of the National Assembly Sejong Office.

In line with the master plan for the National Symbolic Zone finalized in December of last year, ACCA will conduct an architectural design competition for the Presidential Sejong Office and proceed with basic design and land acquisition.

Construction work to develop the land near the office will also begin as a priority. For the National Assembly Sejong Office, ACCA will collaborate with the National Assembly Secretariat to support the design competition and urban planning changes. In addition, plans will be developed to create civic spaces within the National Symbolic Zone.

Kang Juyeop, Administrator of ACCA, stated, "The Presidential Sejong Office is a key space symbolizing the completion of the administrative capital in a practical sense."

Kang added, "Centered on the Presidential Sejong Office Construction Team, we will systematically manage the entire process, from the design competition to subsequent procedures and collaboration with related agencies," and emphasized, "We will ensure the seamless preparation of a dignified national governance space that harmonizes with the National Symbolic Zone."
