Woori FIS Launches 6th Class of Financial IT Talent Training Program

Woori FISA: Fostering Practical Financial IT Talent for the AI Era

Woori FIS, an IT solutions company under Woori Financial Group, announced that it held the opening ceremony for the 6th class of the 'Woori FIS Academy' on December 30 in Mapo, Seoul.

Woori FISA is an educational program operated as part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s 'K-Digital Training (Digital Leading Company Academy)' initiative, aimed at fostering practical talent in the financial IT sector.

The 6th class consists of three tracks: artificial intelligence (AI) engineering, cloud engineering, and cloud service development. The trainees will receive a total of 960 hours of intensive training. In particular, the program will focus on strengthening practical AI capabilities in line with the accelerated adoption of AI in the financial sector.

Woori FISA has enhanced trainees’ practical understanding through technical seminars and project mentoring sessions led directly by IT professionals from Woori Financial Group. For the 6th class, the channels for communication with these industry experts have been significantly expanded. In addition to existing activities, a new small-group mentoring program called 'Lunch Talk' has been introduced during lunch hours to provide trainees with more in-depth career and job counseling opportunities.

Since the launch of its first class in January 2023, Woori FISA has produced a total of 420 graduates over five classes. Many of these graduates have secured positions in the financial sector and major IT companies.

In his welcoming remarks, CEO Paeksoo Kim stated, "Woori FISA is a program designed to nurture digital innovation talent who will lead the financial industry in the AI era," adding, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that trainees can complete the program and grow into top financial IT professionals."
