Crit Ventures Invests in Modular Robot Automation Platform Operator "Withpoints"

Winect Platform Powered by 3D Vision and Robot Control Technology
Automating Non-Standardized Tasks in Manufacturing Sites
Developing New Solutions for Assembly, Painting, and Dismantling
Expanding Partnerships Domestically and Internationally

On January 6, venture capital firm Crit Ventures announced that it had made a pre-Series A investment of 1.5 billion won (approximately 1.15 million USD) in Withpoints, a company developing modular robot automation platforms. This round was co-led by FuturePlay, WeVentures, and the Banks Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs (D.Camp), bringing the total investment to 4 billion won (approximately 3.07 million USD).

Withpoints has developed and operates 'Winect,' a platform that automates non-standardized tasks-such as welding and inspection-that are repeatedly performed in manufacturing environments, based on 3D vision processing and robot control technology.

Traditional manufacturing robots have struggled to flexibly respond to complex tasks, often incurring additional time and costs whenever tasks are changed, which has led to reduced productivity. Winect enables stable automation even under challenging conditions such as reflective surfaces, high temperatures, and vibration environments, thanks to algorithms that allow robots to recognize their own position and shape and perform tasks autonomously, as well as a modular structure that can be applied across various manufacturing processes.

Crit Ventures expressed its expectation that Withpoints would be competitive in the global robotics market, citing its accumulated field-based data, ability to handle non-standardized tasks, multi-hardware compatibility, and template-based scalability.

Withpoints plans to use this investment to focus on ▲ advancing the Winect product ▲ launching new non-standardized task solutions for assembly, painting, and dismantling ▲ expanding partnerships and accelerating overseas expansion ▲ strengthening industry-specific automation templates and datasets.

A Crit Ventures representative stated, "Withpoints is a team with proven technology and advanced 3D vision and robot automation capabilities, validated in real industrial settings. We expect the company to grow rapidly amid the trend of smart manufacturing and logistics transformation based on artificial intelligence and robotics."

Cho Donggyun, CEO of Withpoints, commented, "As demand for robot automation continues to surge across countries and industries, we will further enhance our technological sophistication and field applicability to strengthen our position in the global automation market."
