Pocheon City Appoints 6th Village Tax Accountants... Free Consultation for Everyday Tax Concerns

The newly appointed 6th Village Tax Accountants will serve for two years, from January 2026 to December 2027, providing free tax consultation services to citizens in need of tax advice.

Since 2016, Pocheon City has operated the Village Tax Accountant system, which supports free consultations through the voluntary services of tax accountants. This program targets small business owners who lack expertise in tax administration or face financial burdens in hiring tax accountants, as well as residents who require tax counseling.

Consultations through the Village Tax Accountants cover all aspects of national and local taxes, as well as matters related to appeals against local tax assessments. However, the service does not include the preparation or filing of various tax forms on behalf of clients. Additionally, as this system is intended to support residents experiencing financial hardship, those who own assets exceeding a certain threshold may be restricted from receiving consultations.

A Pocheon City official stated, "We are grateful to the 6th Village Tax Accountants who will help alleviate citizens' tax concerns through their voluntary service," adding, "We hope the Village Tax Accountant system will continue to establish itself as a practical support system for citizens struggling with complex tax issues."
