Kia Launches 2026 Bongo III, Starting at 20.55 Million Won

Three New Special-Purpose Vehicle Models Added

On January 6, Kia announced the launch of the updated model of its compact truck, the 2026 Bongo III.

The 2026 Bongo III features enhanced standard specifications, including an improved front camera, and the addition of three new special-purpose vehicles to accommodate a wider range of customer business needs.

The front camera installed in the updated Bongo III offers a wider field of view, resulting in improved detection of obstacles, lanes, and vehicles in front of the truck compared to the previous model.

Kia has equipped the 2026 Bongo III with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) as a standard feature, utilizing the front camera to expand detection capabilities from vehicles and pedestrians to now include cyclists. In addition, the EV model’s Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) function has been upgraded to recognize not only lanes but also road boundaries.

Kia has applied tinted glass windshields to the 1-ton four-wheel drive (4WD) 'GL Light' trim of the 2026 Bongo III, further enhancing heat insulation and driver visibility compared to previous models.

Additionally, the cargo compartments of the LPG turbo box truck and wing body models now feature new LED lighting that is more than three times brighter than before, improving visibility and ease of work in dark environments.

Kia has significantly expanded the lineup of the 2026 Bongo III by adding three new special-purpose vehicles with enhanced cargo capacity.

The LPG turbo model now includes an extended wing body and a refrigerated box truck with a power gate. The extended wing body increases the cargo bed length by 280 mm compared to the previous electric wing body model, improving loading efficiency.

The refrigerated box truck with a power gate offers a cargo box that is 60 mm longer and 80 mm higher than the standard refrigerated box truck, providing additional cargo space. It also features a power gate with an electro-hydraulic lift system for greater loading convenience.

The newly introduced high-roof refrigerated electric vehicle model offers a cargo box that is 130 mm taller than the standard refrigerated box truck, providing extra cargo space. Like the refrigerated box truck with a power gate, it is equipped with a dual-compressor refrigeration system and a center console-integrated temperature control unit.

The prices for the 2026 Bongo III are as follows: L Light at 20,550,000 won, L at 21,250,000 won, GL at 22,000,000 won, and GLS at 23,200,000 won.

A Kia representative stated, "The 2026 Bongo III is a model that has been significantly improved by actively reflecting customer feedback. With enhanced convenience and a broader range of special-purpose vehicles, we will further strengthen our position in the compact commercial vehicle market."
