Gumi City Launches Investment Promotion at CES 2026

Promoting Gumi's Global Status Through Major AI Data Center Investment Agreement
Securing Gumi's AI Ecosystem and Future Growth Industries by Attracting Investment from Global Companies

Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province will dispatch an investment promotion delegation to CES 2026, the world's largest IT exhibition with participation from over 4,000 companies, from January 5 to 11.

The delegation, led by Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho, will focus on directly identifying global industry trends and advanced technology information, while actively promoting Gumi’s industrial competitiveness and investment environment to major global big tech companies.

In particular, the city plans to accelerate its strategic efforts to transform Gumi, a traditional manufacturing city, into a key hub for AI value creation by fostering future industry cooperation centered on AI and data centers, and by attracting investment in the field of physical AI.

At CES 2026, the Gumi investment promotion delegation will conduct investment attraction activities targeting not only major domestic companies such as Samsung and LG, but also global big tech companies focused on AI and advanced manufacturing industries, including NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel.

The "physical AI" industry, where AI technology converges with physical domains such as robotics, autonomous driving, and smart factories, is an area where Gumi, with its existing manufacturing base, can leverage its strengths. The city expects that these industrial changes will not lead to the collapse of traditional manufacturing, but rather maximize synergistic effects.

CES 2026 will see the participation of numerous global big tech and innovative companies, leading the direction of future industries and investment trends.

The Gumi investment promotion delegation plans to use these direct meetings to explain Gumi's industrial complexes, residential conditions, and business support policies, actively promoting the city as a competitive investment destination in the AI era.

This is expected not only to attract foreign companies but also to expand opportunities for local Gumi businesses to connect with and grow in the global market.

Meanwhile, at the exhibition, Gumi City will sign an investment memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the construction of the Gumi Advanced AI Data Center, officially beginning the transition to a future-oriented industrial structure based on the AI data center and promoting Gumi’s industrial competitiveness to the world.

Gumi City plans to continue its role as a platform and leader that shapes and connects industrial trends, pursuing ongoing strategic investment attraction and industrial restructuring to become a leading city in future industrial transformation.

Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "Participation in CES 2026 is an important opportunity to announce on the global stage that Gumi is entering the era of AI and physical AI in earnest," adding, "Starting with the AI data center investment MOU, we will create new growth industries centered on advanced future industries and emerge as a key investment destination chosen by global companies."
