The city plans to operate the joint design team, which consists of 10 technical civil servants from each town and township, for four weeks until January 30.
The team will handle 121 projects with a total budget of 6.6 billion won. Based on the results of preliminary surveys already conducted in each town and township, the joint design team will prepare drawings, quantities, and specifications. For projects with safety concerns or those requiring specialized review, the city plans to commission separate services.
Through the operation of the joint design team, Paju City aims to expedite the design, tendering, and construction of 2026 construction projects, completing them quickly to invigorate the local economy. In addition, the city will run practical training and experience programs, such as field visits to the Han River Underwater Tunnel PR Center and the Camp Howze bridge girder installation site, as well as CAD and surveying training, to systematically strengthen the work capabilities of technical civil servants.
Cho Chundong, Director of the Road and Transportation Bureau, stated, "Operating the joint design team for construction projects is a tradition that Paju City has maintained for over 40 years. I expect that practical training, including field visits, surveying, and drawing preparation, will further enhance the capabilities of our technical civil servants."
He added, "Based on this, I ask everyone to do their best to ensure the early implementation of the 2026 construction projects and to contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
