Dunamu, the operator of the digital asset exchange Upbit, announced on January 6 that it had donated 16 Bitcoin (BTC) to the "Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign" organized by the Community Chest of Korea on January 5. This donation marks the first corporate sponsorship for the "Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign" in the new year and is also the first digital asset donation since the campaign began in 1999. As of January 5, the value of 16 BTC is approximately 2.1 billion KRW.

The Community Chest of Korea's "Hope Sharing Campaign" is a fundraising initiative held at the end and beginning of each year to spread the value of sharing. It is a nationwide social contribution activity in which individuals, companies, and local communities participate together. Every year, the campaign shares fundraising progress through the "Love Thermometer Tower." The funds raised are used for welfare projects and emergency support for low-income families, vulnerable groups, and disadvantaged members of society.

Last June, Upbit and the Community Chest of Korea signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote digital asset donations and have since worked closely together to lead the next-generation donation culture centered on digital assets. They have created a "Donation Management and Operation Manual" to help nonprofit organizations safely manage digital assets and have conducted training sessions for staff, striving to establish digital assets as a common means of sharing in everyday life.

In particular, this year, corporate participation in the digital asset market is expected to expand gradually, positioning digital assets as a major pillar of corporate donations. In 2026, as a new donation culture begins to take shape, it is especially meaningful that the first corporate donation to the "Hope Sharing Campaign" comes in the form of digital assets from Dunamu.

Oh Kyungseok, CEO of Dunamu, said, "We are pleased that the digital assets donated by Upbit have added the first warmth of the new year to the Love Thermometer Tower. Just as technology connects the world, I hope the positive impact of digital assets will spread throughout our society and that the Love Thermometer Tower can continue to grow digitally."

Kim Byungjoon, Chairman of the Community Chest of Korea, stated, "I sincerely thank Dunamu for practicing such a valuable act of sharing as the first corporate donor of the new year. We will establish a foundation that harmoniously connects systems and the field so that the digital sharing ecosystem can continue to expand."
