A Limited Edition Combining Exclusivity and Symbolism
Diageo Korea announced on January 6 that Johnnie Walker, the world's top-selling Scotch whisky brand, will release the limited edition "Johnnie Walker Blue Horse Edition" to celebrate the 2026 Byeong-o Lunar New Year.
The Johnnie Walker Blue Zodiac Edition features a special design each year, combining the animal symbolizing that year with artistic inspiration. This year's "Johnnie Walker Blue Horse Edition" was created in collaboration with world-renowned fashion designer Robert Wun, a Hong Kong native based in London.
The design of this limited edition draws inspiration from the horse of the zodiac, symbolizing challenge and progress, and expresses an optimistic energy. Robert Wun captured the image of a galloping horse on the bottle, visually representing Johnnie Walker's brand philosophy of "Keep Walking" and its spirit of relentless challenge and ambition. By blending haute couture aesthetics with the core identity of Johnnie Walker’s 200-year history, the edition tells a story of "moving beyond boundaries with optimistic energy," making it a symbolic gift edition for the Lunar New Year season.
The Johnnie Walker Blue Horse Edition features a special blend crafted from rare whiskies, making it both highly exclusive and collectible. Notably, it includes extremely rare whiskies from "ghost distilleries" that are no longer in operation, as well as only one out of every 10,000 casks selected from Johnnie Walker’s distinguished distilleries. These rare and exceptional whiskies are masterfully blended to deliver the signature velvet-smooth and vibrant flavors of the Blue Label.
Crafted by Master Blender Dr. Emma Walker, the Johnnie Walker Blue Horse Edition is characterized by its smooth and harmonious aroma. It offers notes of citrus and raisins, rich spices, and deep, sweet flavors of rose petals, vanilla, dark chocolate, and hazelnuts, finishing with Johnnie Walker’s signature luxurious and smoky aftertaste.
To commemorate the launch of the Johnnie Walker Blue Horse Edition, a pop-up store will be operated for the first time in the Zodiac Edition series at The Crown in Lotte Department Store AvenueL Jamsil from January 9 to 22. The pop-up store will offer customization services for the Johnnie Walker Horse Edition, a Johnnie Walker product scent zone, and stories about the collaboration between Johnnie Walker and Robert Wun. In addition to the standard "Self Stamp Set," which includes a stamp, acrylic frame, and gold number stickers, customers who purchase the Johnnie Walker Horse Edition at the pop-up store will also receive additional items such as a Glencairn glass.
