Renault Korea to Launch New Flagship Crossover "Filante" in First Quarter Renault Korea unveiled the name of the second model of the "Aurora Project," a new car scheduled to be launched in the domestic market in the first quarter, called "Filante," on the 5th. Renault Korea

Filante is the global flagship model under the "International Game Plan 2027" strategy, which aims to launch a total of eight new vehicles across five global hubs outside of Europe by 2027. Korea has been designated as the development and production hub for high-end D and E segment (mid-size and semi-large) vehicles, and the Aurora Project was also carried out under this strategy.

The name Filante is derived from the "Etoile Filante," a record-breaking single-seater high-speed car that Renault unveiled in 1956. Meaning "shooting star" in French, the Etoile Filante was created by incorporating aircraft design to set a world land speed record. The vehicle, which surpassed 300 km/h at the time and made its mark in automotive history, is also renowned for its elegant design and as a symbol of innovation.

Filante also shares its context with Renault's concept car "Filante Record 2025," which set a new record in pure electric vehicle driving energy efficiency at the end of last year.

Positioned as a new flagship crossover that blurs the boundaries between sedan and SUV, Renault Filante will be produced at the Busan plant and launched first in the domestic market in the first quarter, with plans to expand into global markets in the future.

Nicolas Paris, CEO of Renault Korea, stated, "Renault Filante is the second new car to be introduced in Korea under the International Game Plan 2027. It embodies our vision of a groundbreaking and bold crossover and will serve as a symbol of Renault's global upmarket strategy."
