The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on January 5 that it had received a donation of 20 million won from the Korea Petroleum Association for the Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign.
The donation ceremony, held on December 29 of last year, was attended by Ku Jekil, Chairman of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae; Kim Yongim, Gwangju City Council member; Moon Palgap, CEO of KidsLala Co., Ltd.; Jang Sejong, Chairman of the Dong-gu Community Security Council; and Lee Sunmi, Chairman of the Nam-gu Community Security Council, among others.
The Korea Petroleum Association, through the connection of Chairman Park Joosun, has built a relationship with Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae and has consistently participated every year in providing heating support for energy-vulnerable groups in the region.
The donated funds will be used to support energy-marginalized households struggling with heating costs, through the Dong-gu Community Security Council and the Nam-gu Community Security Council.
Kim Yongim, Gwangju City Council member, stated, "It is very meaningful that sharing for the community continues even under difficult circumstances," and added, "I hope this support will provide real help to neighbors struggling with heating during the winter."
Ku Jekil, Chairman of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, expressed, "We deeply appreciate the Korea Petroleum Association for their warm-hearted contribution to the Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign," and emphasized, "Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae will responsibly ensure that the donated funds are delivered to neighbors who truly need them."
