Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on January 5 that Yoon Sungjin, the First Deputy Mayor, officially took office on that day.

First Deputy Mayor Yoon Sungjin passed the first local civil service examination and holds a master's degree in Urban and Regional Studies from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He previously served as Director of Urban Policy for Gyeonggi Province, Head of the Urban Regeneration Promotion Team, and Director of the Balanced Development Planning Office.
On the morning of January 5, Deputy Mayor Yoon visited the Hyeonchungtap Memorial Tower in Songsan-dong, Hwaseong, and then received his letter of appointment from Mayor Jung Myunggeun, officially beginning his work.
The city plans to strengthen its administrative system centered on the First Deputy Mayor, enhance its control tower functions for disaster and safety management as well as overall administrative operations, and proactively respond to rapid urban growth, thereby providing public administration that is even closer to the daily lives of citizens.
Deputy Mayor Yoon stated, "With the launch of the new district office system, I will do my utmost to realize 'Hwaseong Special City-a shining city of exceptional citizens,' where residents can truly feel an improvement in their quality of life."
