Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) announced that it will operate the Gyeongsan Love Card in 2026 with a 10% discount rate to support the business stability of local small businesses and to revitalize the stagnant local economy.
The Gyeongsan Love Card is a local currency that can only be used within the region. By naturally encouraging citizens to spend at local businesses, it plays a role in boosting sales for small business owners and creating a virtuous cycle for the local economy.
Amid prolonged consumption contraction due to high inflation and economic slowdown, the policy is being recognized as one that both citizens and merchants can tangibly feel the benefits of.
In 2025, Gyeongsan City issued approximately 135.5 billion won worth of Gyeongsan Love Cards, contributing to the stabilization of the local economy. The city plans to maintain the discount benefit in 2026 as well, in order to ease the financial burden on citizens and further strengthen the local consumption base.
Mayor Cho Hyunil stated, "The Gyeongsan Love Card is a policy that ensures citizens' everyday spending directly contributes to revitalizing the local economy," adding, "We will continue to operate the discount system to expand benefits for citizens while providing practical support to small business owners."
Meanwhile, the Gyeongsan Love Card can be recharged and issued from 9 a.m. on the 6th via the mobile app (and the app), and is also available during business hours at 36 offline sales agencies.
The purchase limit per individual is 500,000 won per month and 6 million won per year, with a minimum recharge amount of 10,000 won.
