This seminar has been organized to explore practical measures for Korea-Japan regional cooperation, focusing on the roles of local governments and businesses. The need for cooperation between Korea and Japan is increasing as both countries face common social structural crises such as low birth rates, population aging, and the decline of local regions.

At the seminar, Kim Sehyun, Director of the Population Strategy Research Center at the Busan Institute, and Fujinami Takumi, Senior Researcher at the Japan Research Institute (JRI), will give presentations on "Regional Innovation Strategies of Korea and Japan in the Era of Population Crisis." Following this, from Korea, Kim Jaekwon, Head of Regional Cooperation Team and Executive Director at Lotte Holdings, and Lee Mingul, CEO of Panasia, will participate. From Japan, Fujisaki Ryoichi, Director and Head of Regional Cooperation at ANA Research Institute, and Sasai Yuko, President of Pia Research Institute, will introduce case studies on regional revitalization in sectors such as distribution, tourism, manufacturing, and entertainment, and share cooperation strategies between Korean and Japanese companies.

In the comprehensive discussion session, Jang Jeguk, President of Dongseo University, and Fukagawa Yukiko, Professor at Waseda University, will serve as co-moderators. Kim Hyunseok, Dean of the College of Economics and International Trade at Pusan National University, and Lee Taegyu, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Economic Research Institute, will join to engage in in-depth discussions on the direction and challenges of Korea-Japan regional cooperation. The session will also explore approaches to talent exchange and development between the two countries.
