The Korea Local Finance Association (Chairman Jung Sunyong) announced on January 5 that it achieved significant results by providing approximately 700 million won in support to 24 local governments, including Daegu Metropolitan City and Yongsan-gu in Seoul, through the 2025 Public Property Status Survey Support Project.
The Public Property Status Survey Support Project has been promoted by the Association since 2018. By 2025, a total of 5.2 billion won will have been provided to 96 local governments using a 1:1 matching scheme.
In 2025, the 24 local governments that received financial support completed 110,559 on-site inspections and updated the public property registers for 16,611 of these cases, thereby establishing a foundation for efficient property management. In addition, to strengthen the fiscal soundness of local governments, 5,634 cases of unauthorized occupancy were identified.
Starting in 2026, the Association plans to fully reorganize the financial support project into a comprehensive consulting program that covers the entire process of public property status surveys, in order to support systematic public property management by local governments.
Chairman Jung Sunyong stated, "I would like to thank the local governments for their efforts in systematic management through the 2025 public property status survey," and added, "The Association will continue to work closely with our member local governments to actively support and explore ways to improve the management and utilization of public property."
