KHNP Shin-Wolsong Unit 1 Begins 9th Planned Preventive Maintenance

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant (Director Kwon Wontak) announced that Shin-Wolsong Unit 1 (pressurized water reactor, 1 million kW class) halted power generation at 10:02 a.m. on January 5 and began its 9th planned preventive maintenance.

During the planned preventive maintenance period, Shin-Wolsong Unit 1 will undergo statutory inspections in accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act and the Electric Utility Act, nuclear fuel replacement, comprehensive inspections of power generation facilities, and facility improvements. Power generation is scheduled to resume around February 12, 2026.
