The Wanju County Social Workers Association in Jeonbuk has shared warmth by delivering donations voluntarily collected by its members to support vulnerable groups in the community.
According to Wanju County on January 2, the association recently visited the county office and donated 2,102,000 won to help neighbors in need. The donation ceremony was attended by Wanju County Governor Yoo Heetae, Association President Yoo Jaehyun, and other association officials, adding significance to the act of sharing.
This donation was prepared as members of the association came together to care for underprivileged neighbors during the year-end and New Year season. The donated funds will be used to support low-income households and those in welfare blind spots within the county through the Jeonbuk Community Chest of Korea.
Yoo Jaehyun, President of the Association, said, "As social workers who witness the pain of our neighbors more closely than anyone else in the field, we have gathered our sincerity. Although it is a small contribution, I hope it will be a great source of strength for neighbors enduring a difficult winter."
Wanju County Governor Yoo Heetae responded, "I deeply thank all the social workers who not only devote themselves on the front lines of welfare but also take the lead in sharing. The donated funds will be carefully delivered to those in need, raising the temperature of welfare in Wanju County."
