Aiming to Become the Industry's Standard-Setter Amid Internal and External Change
Minki Sik, CEO of SK Shieldus, delivered a New Year's address for 2026, stating that the company will go beyond merely responding to the speed and direction of change, and instead aim to proactively read the flow of change and set new standards for the industry.
On January 5, in his first New Year's address to internal members since taking office, CEO Minki Sik said, "With the evolution of technology, society's and customers' expectations for security have already reached a new level," and added, "The standards for how security must operate are rising to the point where we cannot afford to be complacent with our current achievements."
He continued, "Like the Year of the Red Horse, 2026 must be a year in which we quickly read the flow of change and proactively establish the standards and responsibilities by which we provide our services," adding, "These standards will not be mere declarations, but will be proven by the accumulation of our work methods and choices."
He outlined three directions for change. First, he emphasized making customer trust the starting point for all decisions and consistently embedding compliance, safety, and security throughout all operations. The goal is to ensure that principles, which have previously remained only in documents and regulations, become practical standards in daily work, and to strengthen on-site safety and risk management systems so that procedures serve as a foundation for stable operations rather than a burden on work.
From a business perspective, the company plans to fundamentally review the approaches that have driven its past achievements across both cybersecurity and physical security. In the cybersecurity sector, SK Shieldus will lead the formation of a new market category for subscription-based security services tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises. In the physical security sector, the company will seek scalable business opportunities and strengthen its business portfolio in response to demographic and social environmental changes. Through these efforts, SK Shieldus aims to redefine its customer base, service structure, and operational methods, and to proactively establish new standards for security, thereby strengthening its role in providing stable and sustainable security across society.
He also highlighted organizational and talent strategies as a key pillar. The company will solidify its leadership pipeline to ensure that the growth of its members leads to organizational change, systematically nurture talent to prepare for the next stage, and continuously expand an environment that encourages employees to take on new roles and experiences.
CEO Minki Sik stated, "The process of setting standards in a changing era and environment and embedding them into the fabric of our organization cannot be completed overnight, but it is a path we must take. I will continue to listen to both internal and external voices and take responsibility to ensure that the company's transformation leads to a stronger daily experience for all members."
