"Will Lead AX in Industrial Fields"
Channel Corporation announced on January 5 that it has appointed Kyunghoon Lee, Korea Representative of the Japanese venture capital (VC) firm Global Brain, as its Vice President and Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO).
CAIO Kyunghoon Lee graduated from Kyoto University in Japan and previously worked at Boston Consulting Group and the generative AI startup AKA. From 2018 until recently, he served as Korea Representative of Global Brain, overseeing cross-border startup investments between Korea and Japan. He also serves as an outside director at the large language model (LLM) solution company Allganize and the robotics AI model development startup Real World, demonstrating broad experience and expertise across the AI and tech industries.
Global Brain is the largest VC in Japan, managing approximately 3.5 trillion won in assets under management (AUM). In Korea, it has invested in about 30 startups, including Channel Corporation, Allganize, Healing Paper (Gangnam Unni), and The Playto (Tiro). In addition to funding, Global Brain actively supports its portfolio companies in expanding their business operations within the Japanese market.
CAIO Lee decided to join Channel Corporation based on his deep understanding of the AI industry ecosystem and the Japanese startup market. He plans to fully activate Channel Corporation's AI Transformation (AX) organization, advance AX for both the company and its clients, and focus on strengthening competitiveness in the Japanese market.
CAIO Lee stated, "Drawing on the experience I have accumulated, I will not only lead AX in our company and our clients’ industries, but also focus on demonstrating unparalleled business capabilities in expanding into the Japanese market."
