Hankook Tire Launches "SmartWork DM11" Rear Tire for Dump Trucks

Enhanced Mileage, Fuel Efficiency, and Driving Stability with SmartTec Technology

Hankook Tire & Technology announced on January 5 that it will launch a new rear tire for dump trucks, the "SmartWork DM11."

This premium rear tire is optimized for both on-road and off-road driving conditions and incorporates the company's cutting-edge truck and bus tire technology, "SmartTec." SmartTec enhances tire performance based on five key elements: safety, mileage, chip and cut resistance, tire retreadability, and braking power.

In particular, the tire has been engineered to improve overall performance-including durability, mileage, and driving stability-by taking into account the operational characteristics of dump trucks, such as heavy load carrying, long distances, and frequent unpaved road usage. Compared to previous products, mileage performance has been increased by up to 30%. The application of a non-directional tread pattern on the tire surface enhances grip and minimizes stone trapping.

Additionally, the tire features a "tie-bar" structure to increase block stiffness, significantly reduce rolling resistance, and provide improved fuel efficiency. It is being released in the 12R22.5 size, the main specification for medium and large truck tires.
