Jungbae Lim: "This Year Marks the Inaugural Year of Fair Trade Compliance"
Daesang Corporation announced on January 5 that it has declared the strengthening of its Fair Trade Compliance Program (hereinafter referred to as CP).
The Fair Trade Compliance Program (CP) is an internal compliance system established by companies to voluntarily comply with fair trade-related laws and regulations. Daesang Corporation regards fair trade as the foundation of the market economy and a core value for the company's sustainable growth. The company plans to practice transparent and ethical management through a systematic internal management infrastructure. In addition, by operating the Fair Trade CP in a structured manner, Daesang Corporation aims to enhance customer trust and secure market competitiveness.
Im Jeongbae, CEO of Daesang Corporation, is delivering a declaration at the ceremony for strengthening the Fair Trade Compliance Program held on the 2nd at the Daesang Group headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Daesang Corporation has established a foundation for ethical management by operating a compliance committee and building an environment to supervise and manage adherence to corporate ethical standards. The company has established a "Compliance Policy" that further specifies the direction for compliance management and the behavioral standards for executives and employees, building upon its existing code of ethics and conduct guidelines. Key areas such as fair trade, ethical management, food hygiene, industrial safety, human resources and labor, and personal information are managed intensively by the respective departments. Furthermore, in 2022, Daesang Corporation obtained certification for its compliance management system (ISO37301) across all business sites, gaining external recognition for the effectiveness and reliability of its compliance management framework.
Starting this year, Daesang Corporation plans to further strengthen its operational system centered on the Fair Trade Compliance Program, and expand tailored compliance support activities that reflect the unique work characteristics of each organization. To this end, the company has outlined three key principles: ▲ strengthening the prevention of risks related to violations of fair trade laws and ensuring prompt corrective action, ▲ expanding fair trade-related education for management and employees and embedding a voluntary compliance system within organizational operations, and ▲ continuously advancing the operation of the compliance program. Daesang Corporation aims to establish a culture of fair trade compliance throughout all daily work activities.
Jungbae Lim, CEO of Daesang Corporation, stated, "Fair trade compliance is an essential factor for the continuous growth of a company," and added, "We will make 2026 the inaugural year of fair trade compliance, systematically operating a practical compliance system tailored to the characteristics of the food industry, and further solidifying the trust we have built with our customers over many years."
