JLK Introduces Stroke AI Solution to Military Hospitals... Expanding Scope of Use

JLK, a domestic medical artificial intelligence (AI) specialist company led by CEO Kim Dongmin, announced on January 5 that its stroke AI solution has been introduced and is now being operated in military hospitals under the Armed Forces Medical Command on a subscription basis.

The JLK stroke AI solution is being used in military hospitals as a tool to assist medical professionals in their decision-making. When a patient is suspected of having a stroke, the solution provides image-based analysis results, which serve as reference materials during the treatment process. JLK explained that, as a result, the initial response workflow at each hospital has become standardized to a certain degree, and the decision-making process among medical staff has become significantly clearer.

JLK further stated that its AI-based analysis results are designed to support medical care according to the same standards, regardless of region or hospital size. This not only aids diagnosis, but also contributes to enhancing the overall stability and reliability of the military medical system.

This implementation is significant because it is a case where the same solution has been applied across the entire system, rather than at the level of individual military hospitals. JLK emphasized that this marks the phased establishment of an AI-based treatment support infrastructure throughout the military medical system. Industry experts see this as an example of medical AI technology expanding from use at the hospital level to adoption at the system level.

Additionally, the subscription-based supply model has minimized the initial implementation burden for each hospital while enabling rapid deployment across all facilities, making it a suitable model for public healthcare environments, including the military.

A JLK representative stated, "It is meaningful that the stroke AI solution is being used as a treatment support tool in military hospitals," and added, "We will continue to advance our technology, taking into account the unique characteristics of the military medical environment, to further contribute to emergency care support."
