Boosting Market Growth Through New Technology Development and Enhanced Production Efficiency
Hanwha Robotics announced on January 5 that it has appointed Woo Changpyo, Head of the Future Innovation Task Force at Hanwha Vision, as its new CEO.
Woo, the newly appointed CEO, holds a master's degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University in the United States. He previously worked at the global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company and served as CEO of McQ's Incorporated and Cornerstone Partners. In 2024, he joined Hanwha Group, where he led the Future Innovation Task Force at Hanwha Vision, overseeing management efficiency improvements in the machinery sector and spearheading the discovery of new business opportunities.
With over 30 years of global field experience at leading management consulting firms, Woo is widely recognized as a top strategist. As Woo takes the helm at Hanwha Robotics, the company is expected to accelerate innovation in manufacturing processes and enhance production efficiency.
Hanwha Robotics plans to strengthen its internal operations under Woo's leadership while actively pursuing new market expansion. This year, the company intends to launch a variety of new products, including the high-payload collaborative robot "HCR-32," the ultra-lightweight and compact welding robot "HCR-5W," and a standard platform autonomous mobile robot (AMR).
A Hanwha Robotics official stated, "The utilization of collaborative robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and AMRs is expanding across the manufacturing and service sectors. By applying advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and maximizing efficiency, we aim to set new standards not only in the domestic market but also in the global robotics industry."
In addition, the company plans to continuously expand collaboration with other group affiliates in the manufacturing, distribution, and service sectors. Jeong Byeongchan, the previous CEO who led Hanwha Robotics, will continue to support various innovation initiatives to strengthen the company's technological competitiveness on the ground.
