Certificate, Logo, and Excellent Program Title Granted for Three Years
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province announced on January 5 that five programs, including the "Dreamtlee Environmental Classroom" and the "School Forest Magnifying World," have been designated as excellent environmental education programs certified by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment.

The designation of excellent environmental education programs is a national certification system that comprehensively evaluates and selects the eco-friendliness, excellence, and safety of environmental education content operated by local governments, companies, and public institutions.
The designation period is three years, until the end of 2028. During this period, the designated certificate, logo, and the title of excellent environmental education program may be used, and the certified program must be continuously operated.
The environmental education programs in Seongnam City designated as excellent include: "Dreamtlee Environmental Classroom" for children aged 6 to 7; "School Forest Magnifying World" for 4th-grade elementary students; "The Earth’s Temperature Is Suspicious" for 6th-grade elementary students; a mobile ecology classroom for students with disabilities; and "All of Us, Let’s Go Green Together," a woodworking class for students with disabilities.
Among these, the "Dreamtlee Environmental Classroom" is a hands-on environmental education program operated for groups of 15 to 20 children per session, upon application from kindergartens and daycare centers in the Seongnam area.
At the Environmental Education Center on the 4th floor of the Yangji-dong Administrative Welfare Center, activities such as observing insects and plants with a loupe (magnifying glass) and making dragonfly-eye necklaces are conducted. The program helps children naturally learn the importance of the ecosystem through play-based classes tailored to their level.
The ecology classroom and woodworking class for students with disabilities are customized environmental education programs in which environmental education instructors visit special schools in Seongnam-Hyeeun School (Dandae-dong, Sujeong-gu) and Seongeun School (Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu)-to conduct two-session courses, including ecological sensory play and making wooden bookstands.

These two programs were first designated as excellent environmental education programs in 2022 and have now been re-designated, recognizing their educational effectiveness and operational achievements.
A city official stated, "This designation as excellent environmental education programs is the result of our continued efforts to provide tailored environmental education for different groups. We will continue to discover and promote programs that allow citizens of all generations to experience the value of the natural environment and put it into practice."
