Magnitude 2.2 Earthquake Strikes Sea Northeast of Donghae, Gangwon Province

An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2 occurred in the sea, 49 kilometers northeast of Donghae, Gangwon Province.

On January 3, the Korea Meteorological Administration announced that the 2.2 magnitude earthquake occurred at 2:27:19 p.m. that day.

The epicenter was located at latitude 37.86 degrees north and longitude 129.47 degrees east.

The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "No earthquake damage is expected."
