New Year's Rice Cake Soup Served to Employees
On the first workday of the new year, what greeted the employees of Yangsan City Hall was not a pile of documents for approval, but a warm bowl of rice cake soup.
Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that on January 2, 2026, the first workday of the byeongo year, the mayor personally served rice cake soup to employees at the city hall cafeteria.
This event was held to encourage employees who work diligently in the field for the welfare of citizens and the development of the region, and to provide an informal opportunity for communication between the mayor and the staff as the new year begins.
On this day, Mayor Na Dongyeon wore an apron and stood at the serving counter, personally dishing out food to each employee and offering New Year's greetings. He expressed his gratitude for their hard work and encouraged them by saying, "I am always thankful for your dedication, and I hope you will continue to do your best for the citizens."
After serving, he joined the employees for a meal in the cafeteria, sharing a resolution to "work together to provide even better administrative services to citizens this year."
An official from Yangsan City stated, "We plan to continue strengthening communication with employees and making various efforts to create a better working culture in the public sector, along with improving administrative services."
