"I've Known for Quite Some Time": Nana, Countersued by Robber, Says "This Situation Makes No Sense"

Home Intruder Files Counter-Complaint for Attempted Murder
Nana: "Sorry for Causing Anxiety... I Will Set Things Right"

Actress Nana, formerly of the group After School, has personally spoken out after being countersued for attempted murder by a man who broke into her home and committed a robbery.

On January 2, Nana shared through her social media accounts and a fan communication platform, "I wanted to write this because I thought my fans might be worried," adding, "It has been quite some time since I learned about the lawsuit, and I heard the news while enduring a mentally difficult period."

She continued, "As the meeting with fans approached, I spent a lot of time reflecting in order to steady my shaken heart," and confessed, "I didn't want to break my promise to my fans because of this incident, and I wanted to face you again in a stable state." She added, "After spending some time alone, I have regained some stability and feel that I have become a bit stronger."

Nana also revealed the complex emotions she experienced through this incident. She said, "I realized that always trying to see the world and people in the best light, and wanting to trust them no matter what, might have been excessive optimism on my part, which led me to feel disillusioned," adding, "Even now, I am facing a reality where I must deal with a situation that makes no sense."

Nevertheless, she reassured her fans by saying, "I will not break down, and I will keep myself steady," and continued, "I am sorry if I unintentionally caused you anxiety. I will set things right, so please don't worry and trust me."

According to the police, in November of last year, a man in his 30s, referred to as A, broke into the home of Nana and her mother in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, wielding a weapon. He was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and injury for injuring her mother and demanding valuables. At the time, Nana and her mother physically struggled with A, subdued him, and reported the incident to the police.

During the altercation, A sustained a laceration to his jaw, but the police determined that Nana and her mother's actions constituted legitimate self-defense to protect themselves and their family from an armed intruder, and did not charge them.

However, A later filed a countersuit against Nana, accusing her of attempted murder and aggravated assault. The police have stated that, although the case has already been determined to be self-defense, they will review the matter according to procedure since a formal complaint has been filed.

In response, Nana's agency Sublime has announced that it will take all possible civil and criminal legal actions, signaling a strong response.
