A story has emerged about a child who delivered a heartfelt letter and gifts to a fire station on New Year's Day.
According to Incheon Gyeyang Fire Station on January 2, CCTV footage captured two men, presumed to be a father and son, unloading items from a handcart in front of the main entrance of the Jakjeon 119 Safety Center in Gyeyang District around 7 p.m. the previous day.
The package they delivered contained a letter, cup noodles, hot packs, and ion drinks.
The letter, handwritten by the child, read, "It has now been a year. Thank you for working so hard throughout 2025 to save us all. Thanks to the firefighters, I can be with my family and enjoy many good days, including a happy school life." The letter continued, "It must be hot and difficult to go into the flames, but the work of rescuing people in tough situations is admirable."
In response, the firefighters said, "We were greatly comforted by the fact that someone came out in the cold weather to express their gratitude," adding, "With this encouragement, we will work even harder to protect everyone's safety."
Song Taecheol, Chief of Gyeyang Fire Station, said, "The small handwritten letter from the child touched everyone at the fire station," and added, "We will strengthen our prevention and response capabilities to provide reliable safety services."
