At 6:08 p.m. on January 2, a fire broke out in a two-story wooden building located in the jewelry district of Jongno 3-ga, Myo-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The fire authorities are currently working to extinguish the blaze, mobilizing 20 pieces of equipment and 73 personnel.
No casualties have been reported so far.
Due to the fire, both directions from Donhwamun-ro, Jongno 3-ga to the Changdeokgung intersection are completely closed to traffic.
The Jongno District Office sent an emergency text alert, stating that a large amount of smoke has been generated by the fire and advising people to exercise caution and use alternate routes.
