The “Second Term in Administration” Returns to Uiseong... Deputy Governor Bang Jumun Seeks Solutions in the Field

Deputy Governor Bang began his official duties without a separate inauguration ceremony, starting with a visit to the Memorial Tower for the Fallen, and immediately commenced his work. Starting on January 7, he will receive major work briefings from each department and plans to actively support county administration by visiting sites related to residents’ livelihoods in person.

This appointment holds special significance for Deputy Governor Bang. In 2017, he served as the head of the Job Economy and Transportation Department in Uiseong County, overseeing local economic and employment policies. Having gained a deep understanding of county administration at that time, this appointment is seen as his “second connection” with Uiseong and marks the return of a hands-on deputy governor.

In particular, Deputy Governor Bang is recognized for his strong understanding of local issues and his emotional bond with county residents. As he returns to Uiseong as deputy governor after eight years, there is growing anticipation throughout the community that he will ensure both continuity and stability in county administration.

In his inauguration remarks, Deputy Governor Bang stated, “Having previously worked in Uiseong, it is especially meaningful for me to return here,” and added, “Based on the administrative experience I have accumulated, I will faithfully serve as a bridge between the province and the county.” He further emphasized, “I will focus my administrative capabilities on creating changes and achievements that residents can truly feel.”

He also expressed his ambitions, saying, “Together with over 900 public officials, I will do my utmost in the field to ensure that the county’s key priority projects-such as the construction of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport, a centennial project for Uiseong, and the cultivation of future new growth industries-lead to tangible results.”

Deputy Governor Bang, a native of Gumi in North Gyeongsang Province, graduated from Gumi High School and the Department of Public Administration at Keimyung University. He began his public service career in Gumi City in 1994. Since then, he has held positions in the Autonomy Administration Department and Human Resources Department of North Gyeongsang Province, served as Protocol Team Leader in the Governor’s Secretariat, and has been Director of the Future City Planning Office and Director of the Administrative Safety Bureau in Gumi City. Most recently, he served as Chief Secretary to the Governor of North Gyeongsang Province, overseeing the overall operations of the provincial government.

Uiseong County stated, “With Deputy Governor Bang joining us, who possesses both extensive field administrative experience and operational know-how, we expect greater stability in advancing county administration. We also anticipate practical synergy in strengthening cooperation between the province and the county and in resolving key issues.”
