On January 2, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held the "2026 Staff Communication Standing Tea Meeting" at the 18th floor lounge of the Southern Office building.
This tea meeting was organized to reflect on the past year and to reaffirm determination and resolve for a hopeful new beginning in celebration of the Byeongo Year (Year of the Fire Horse) New Year.
The meeting was broadcast live via video conferencing systems, connecting the Southern and Northern Office buildings, allowing more than 1,000 employees of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education to participate together.
Im Taehee, Superintendent of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated at the event, "On this first day of the New Year, I began with a sense of gratitude and pride," and continued, "First, I am grateful and proud to be a member of the Gyeonggi Future Education Office; second, to be working together with all of you who have shaped today's Gyeonggi education; third, to be working for the future of our students and our country; and fourth, to be part of Gyeonggi education, which the world wants to join and emulate, together with you."

He added, "As Superintendent, I constantly ask myself whether I always maintain a mindset befitting the Gyeonggi Future Education Office, what contributions and roles I can provide to all of you, whether I can explain myself confidently and without shame before students, parents, and staff, and whether we have substantial content to confidently present to global education. I hope that you, too, will start today by reflecting on and questioning yourselves."
He especially emphasized, "Just as the ancient sages taught us to follow the natural order of the world-'Those who follow heaven prosper, those who go against it perish (順天者興 逆天者亡)'-for the Gyeonggi education family, 'heaven' means our students. I ask you to take pride in working for the growth and future of our students in the new year and to do your best."
