Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) is recruiting participants for the "2026 First Half Public Work and Community Job Program" to support the livelihoods of vulnerable groups and create employment opportunities.

The selected participants will work for four months, from March 1 to June 30.

A notable feature of the program is that working hours vary depending on age.

Those under 65 years of age will work 6 hours per day (30 hours per week), while those aged 65 and older will work 3 hours per day (15 hours per week).

The wage is 10,320 won per hour, with an additional 5,000 won in incidental expenses paid on each working day. Participants are also eligible for the four major social insurances.

To be eligible, applicants must be Gyeongsan residents aged 18 or older as of the project start date, with household income at or below 70% of the median income and assets not exceeding 400 million won.

However, those receiving unemployment benefits, family members of public officials, recipients of public pensions, or individuals who have continuously participated in publicly funded job programs are not eligible to apply.

Those wishing to participate should bring their ID and supporting documents and apply at the administrative welfare center of their town, township, or neighborhood of residence.

Gyeongsan City stated, "This program focuses not only on providing short-term jobs, but also on helping participants build a foundation for self-reliance so they can transition to private sector employment through work experience," and added, "In particular, by easing the income criteria, we aim to include as many citizens as possible who are currently outside the employment safety net."
