Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Yoon Kyunghee) has announced its 2026 county administration direction under the slogan "Cheongsong, Rising Together with Hope," aiming to restore daily life for residents and leap toward a sustainable future beyond regional reconstruction.
Cheongsong County stated, "In 2025, we faced various challenges such as wildfire damage, abnormal weather, and domestic and international instability. However, we confirmed that our community is strong enough to turn crises into opportunities through the solidarity of our residents and public officials." The county also expressed gratitude to the residents who endured the difficult times of 2025 together.
Furthermore, the county emphasized, "In 2026, we are committed to making Cheongsong a place where hope for the future becomes a part of daily life while ensuring the stability of our residents." The county then outlined five strategic tasks for county administration in 2026.

First, Cheongsong will realize "Wealthy Cheongsong through Future-Oriented Agriculture." To respond to the threats of climate change and natural disasters, the county will accelerate the establishment of a future-oriented agricultural system centered on Cheongsong apples.
By promoting "smart house cultivation," "the establishment of specialized fruit production complexes," and "support for sapling costs to create future-oriented Cheongsong apple orchards," the county will expand high-quality Cheongsong apple cultivation systems. In addition, to strengthen the competitiveness of the Cheongsong apple brand, the county will implement "joint production and distribution of high-quality standardized saplings" and "dissemination of cultivation technologies for abnormal weather response and disaster prevention."
The county also plans to develop and spread a successful model for Cheongsong agriculture by "nurturing future-leading farmers with field-oriented expertise," "developing practical models for young farmers to start businesses and settle in the area," and "promoting education and processing that utilizes local rice and agricultural products." These efforts aim to increase the number of young farmers and establish a solid foundation for agricultural income generation.
Second, the county will implement "Robust Welfare, Hopeful Cheongsong" to protect residents' lives. As Cheongsong is a super-aged society, with more than 45% of its population aged 65 or older, the administration will provide more attentive welfare services to improve residents' satisfaction with their living environment. By actively operating the "8282 Civil Service Processing Service," the county will promptly resolve inconveniences in daily life. The "free rural bus" service will ensure inclusive transportation, expanding opportunities for social participation and revitalizing the local economy.
Additionally, the county will establish an integrated support system for "medical care, nursing, and caregiving," allowing residents to receive care services safely in their own communities. The county will also improve senior community centers by "renovating aging facilities and constructing new centers damaged by wildfires." Furthermore, the county will enhance the "Cheongsong Talent Development Institute," provide "support for happy care for parents and children," and "support youth activities that nurture dreams and talents," thereby creating an educational environment that satisfies both parents and children.
Third, the county will foster a "sustainable market economy" to invigorate the region. By "issuing and expanding the circulation of Cheongsong Love Local Currency" and "revitalizing the Jinbo Guesthouse Market," the county will create an economic structure that satisfies both local residents and small business owners. The "construction of public rental housing in Jinbo-myeon" and the "Cheongsong County K-U City Anti-Aging Project" will create an environment for young people to settle, injecting new vitality into the region.
Fourth, to promote "diverse cultural tourism," the county will strengthen tourism competitiveness focused on experiences and stays. In Pacheon-myeon, the county will expand Cheongsong-style tourism infrastructure by "establishing a forest leisure sports resort," "building a large-scale 54-hole public park golf course," and "constructing the Cheongsong Outdoor Golf Course," allowing visitors to enjoy nature. The county will also attract tourists with unique experiences by "creating Gyeongbuk-style unique accommodations," "establishing the Forest of White Porcelain," and "expanding UNESCO Global Geopark Cheongsong educational tourism," utilizing Cheongsong's cultural heritage.
Fifth, to create a "livable urban environment," the county will significantly improve residential conditions. Through the "Siryang District Rural Space Improvement Project" and the "Deokri District Rural Space Improvement Project," the county will provide cultural spaces for residents by regenerating rural areas. The "Special Regeneration Project for Bugok Wildfire-Damaged Area" will restore lost homes and infrastructure, leading not only to the recovery but also the revitalization of local businesses.
Furthermore, by fully implementing the "Rural Agreement," the county will expand living infrastructure in eight towns and townships, improving residential conditions and the quality of life for residents. The "Green New Deal Power Line Undergrounding Project" and the "Jinbo-myeon and Cheongsong-eup Disaster-Prone Area Improvement Projects" will help create a safe and pleasant urban environment.
Cheongsong County stated, "We will make 2026 a starting point for moving from crisis to recovery, and from recovery to a new leap forward." The county also pledged, "To achieve this, we will operate a county administration that listens carefully to even the smallest voices of residents and communicates together, building a future where Cheongsong rises strongly once again."
