Wonhak Hong's New Year's Address as President and CEO of Samsung Life Insurance

Hong Wonhak, CEO of Samsung Life Insurance, emphasized that the "Life Care Integrated Financial Platform" represents the future of Samsung Life Insurance, urging employees not to remain complacent out of habit.

In his New Year's address on January 2, Hong stated, "Customers no longer simply want insurance; they seek care that encompasses health, assets, and all aspects of daily life. We must go beyond the traditional boundaries of the insurance business to lead the future."

Hong stressed that the "Life Care Integrated Financial Platform," an ecosystem connecting all aspects of customers’ daily lives beyond insurance, should become synonymous with the future of Samsung Life Insurance.

He said, "Artificial intelligence (AI) is not a choice but a core management keyword. We need a major transformation so that AI is not just felt, but fully integrated into our operations." He added, "Let us always reflect on whether we are settling into old habits, as we strive to grow into a platform company that surpasses big tech."

Hong promised qualitative growth and customer-centric management. "Above all, the most important thing is the customer," he said. "Every moment we face customers, the small differences we make to exceed their expectations and earn their trust will ultimately create a significant competitive edge." He continued, "Believing that customer value is the company’s value, every decision must start with the customer. In every process-product development, sales, and management-always ask, 'Is this truly beneficial for the customer?'"
