Applying 3D Technology to Robotics and Digital Twin
Collaboration with Nvidia Since 2022... Attracting Interest from Major Corporations
"As we move further into the era of physical AI, where physical properties are embedded, abundant data becomes essential. Ndotlight provides the 3D data required for robot learning in simulation environments and helps ensure that these solutions work seamlessly in the real world."
Founded in 2020, Ndotlight began by developing 3D design software based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology and has since expanded its business to include the production of 3D data used in manufacturing and robotics technologies.
Kim Seontae, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Ndotlight, said in a recent interview with The Asia Business Daily, "As demand for simulation data needed for interactions between robots and objects increases, we are receiving inquiries from various companies." Kim CTO has built up experience and expertise in 3D graphics and AI technology through his previous roles at Samsung Electronics and Naver.
In November last year, at the 'Nvidia AI Day' held in Seoul, Ndotlight presented a case study of collaboration that combined its technology with Nvidia's platform. Ndotlight provided learning 3D data to humanoid robotics company Holiday Robotics, enabling robots in logistics warehouses to learn how to fold and unfold collapsible boxes. Nvidia's AI platform and technical support played a crucial role in this process.
Since 2022, Ndotlight has been selected for the Nvidia Inception Program and has maintained ongoing collaboration. In the 'N-Up Program,' a startup growth support initiative by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Nvidia, Ndotlight was recognized for its marketability, technological capabilities, and business execution, advancing to the second stage (market expansion). Kim CTO said, "Through collaboration with Nvidia, we have been able to enhance our products, gain promotional benefits by participating in global events, and create sales opportunities."
Major corporations aiming to automate and unmanned their manufacturing sites using digital twin technology are also reaching out to Ndotlight. Kim CTO explained, "Large companies are preparing 'dark factories' that operate without human intervention," and added, "We are generating the 3D data required for the digital twin process, which replicates real environments in virtual spaces."
As contracts with large corporations have increased, Ndotlight's revenue in 2025 grew fivefold compared to the previous year. This year, the company is actively targeting overseas markets. Kim CTO stated, "Recently, the Japanese government has been promoting a large-scale private sector AI transformation policy, which is expected to further increase data demand. We plan to establish a Japanese subsidiary this year and focus on targeting Japanese manufacturing companies."
