Nojung Kwak, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SK Hynix, defined the new year as "a time to embark on new challenges" in his New Year's address on January 2, 2026. He emphasized, "We must continue to maintain our competitiveness in the increasingly intense artificial intelligence (AI) market by rapidly developing advanced technologies and next-generation products."

In his New Year's message to company employees, President Kwak stated, "In order to secure differentiated market competitiveness in the rapidly changing AI environment, speed is more important than anything else."

He assessed the current market situation by saying, "The demand for AI, which has exceeded expectations, has become a constant rather than just a favorable factor, and the intensity of competition is increasing." He added, "In key areas, our company is now recognized as a market leader, and the roles and responsibilities required of us have grown to an incomparable extent."

He reiterated, "Our ultimate goal goes beyond simply being number one; it is to become a truly world-class company that prioritizes customer satisfaction as a true partner and contributes to the sustainable development of society." He stressed, "To achieve this, we must maintain our technology leadership and profitability-focused management based on the SK Management System (SKMS), while also making sufficient investments and efforts to prepare for the future."

President Kwak also said, "While we should maximize our motivation as an industry leader, it is equally important to sustain the Supex spirit of bold challenge, a humble attitude of continuous self-examination, and a culture of collaboration. Completing the one-team spirit through intense technological and strategic discussions is also crucial."

He further stated, "To truly become a 'full-stack AI memory creator,' we must not remain confined to existing frameworks but strive to creatively present and realize the values that our customers need most."
