Barrier-Free Subtitles Expanded to Over 2,700 Episodes
On January 2, Tving announced that it has improved its app accessibility features to enhance usability for people with visual and hearing impairments.
The key feature is "voice guidance." When users enable the accessibility option on a smartphone or smart TV, all on-screen text, including menus and guidance messages, is read aloud. This allows users to browse and play content without having to look at the screen. The company has also enhanced its public service aspect by linking this initiative with a support program from the Korea Creative Content Agency.
Barrier-free subtitles have also been significantly expanded. Currently, subtitles are available for 260 titles and more than 2,700 episodes. To target the global market, English barrier-free subtitles have also been introduced. The company plans to further expand the coverage to major new releases such as "Study Group" and "Dear X."
A Tving representative stated, "We aim to create an OTT viewing environment that anyone can use, regardless of whether they can see or hear."
