[New Year's Address] Hyundai Group Chairman Hyun Jeong-eun: "Let’s Lead the AI-Driven Era of Transformation"

Emphasizing the Redesign of Management Systems
and Proactive Customer Response

Hyun Jeong-eun, Chairman of Hyundai Group, emphasized the importance of proactive execution in her 2026 New Year's address, encouraging, "Let us demonstrate the will and action to lead an era of transformation."

On January 2, in her New Year's message sent via email to over 6,000 executives and employees of Hyundai Elevator, Hyundai Movex, Hyundai Asan, and other group affiliates, Chairman Hyun stated, "The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to drive changes in all areas. As AI technology excels at predicting market trends and customer behaviors, this year, all affiliates must focus on redesigning management systems with embedded AI and strengthening their proactive customer response capabilities."

Chairman Hyun reiterated the 'customer-centric management' she emphasized last year. She said, "Through sensemaking management, which is strategic thinking for AI integration and customer response, we can enhance our insight into the market and customers, and the organizational capability to translate this insight into action will determine our future competitiveness. While AI analyzes customer data, interpreting the market is the responsibility of the insight and judgment of our executives and employees."

She also stressed trust-based management centered on shareholder value for sustainable growth. Chairman Hyun said, "Enhancing shareholder value is a fundamental duty of a company, and shareholder trust is the starting point for sustainable growth. We must lay the foundation for future growth through concrete actions to return value to shareholders."

Chairman Hyun introduced an anecdote about a lost army surviving with an incorrect map, saying, "What matters more than perfect information is proactive action. Uncertainty always brings new opportunities, and only those who act can seize them."

She also reaffirmed her commitment to inter-Korean economic cooperation. She said, "Expectations for easing tensions on the Korean Peninsula are rising once again. I hope this year will bring positive changes to inter-Korean relations, and I ask everyone to be thoroughly prepared to act whenever circumstances allow."

Meanwhile, on this day, Hyundai Group held a New Year's first workday event at its headquarters in Yeonji-dong, Seoul. Executives from each affiliate gave New Year's greetings and distributed vitamin gifts to employees, and programs such as a wish wall and photo booth were arranged to encourage staff members.
