Paju City to Waive All Fees for Unmanned Civil Service Kiosks
Policy Takes Effect January 1... Expected to Enhance Daily Convenience for Residents
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on January 2 that, starting January 1, 2026, all service fees for certificates issued through unmanned civil service issuance machines within the city will be completely waived in order to reduce financial burdens on citizens and enhance daily convenience.
Previously, service fee reductions or exemptions for unmanned civil service issuance machines were only available to certain groups, such as recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security Program and national merit honorees. However, with this new universal free policy, all Paju citizens can now benefit equally from free issuance. However, real estate registration certificates are excluded from this exemption.
The unmanned civil service issuance machines can be easily used through fingerprint authentication or mobile ID verification. Paju City currently operates a total of 45 machines at 40 locations. Among these, 27 locations offer 24-hour service year-round, allowing citizens to conveniently obtain civil documents even at night or on holidays.
A Paju City official stated, "Although the total amount may not be significant, making all service fees for unmanned civil service issuance machines free is a 'small benefit in daily life' that citizens can frequently experience. We will continue to provide attentive, citizen-centered administrative services that are closely connected to daily life."
Meanwhile, detailed information on the locations and operating hours of unmanned civil service issuance machines can be found on the Paju City website and Government24.
