Chul-dong Jung, President of LG Display, has expressed his determination to make 2026 a turning point for profitable growth based on differentiated technological capabilities. He also presented three key tasks for securing future competitiveness, emphasizing the strengthening of technological leadership, including the establishment of an 'Agentic AI' system.

In his New Year's address delivered to domestic and overseas employees on January 2, Jung stated, "If we have regained customer trust by solidifying our fundamentals so far, from now on, we must innovate as a technology-driven company to ensure that customers have no other choice but to select us." He added, "We must secure a stable profit structure and a foundation for future growth in all business areas to fully normalize our management."

To enter a new growth trajectory based on a stable profit foundation, Jung identified the following as this year's key tasks: securing top-tier technologies, advancing cost innovation based on technology, and accelerating the implementation of AX (AI transformation) across all areas.

First, LG Display will focus on securing 'top-tier technologies' in core technology areas that can create entry barriers, based on differentiated technological capabilities. Jung urged, "Customers demand products that possess both differentiated technology and cost competitiveness. Let us concentrate our resources and capabilities on technologies for future customers and move forward as a technology-driven company with mid- to long-term technological leadership."

He also stressed the importance of structural cost innovation. Jung emphasized, "Cost innovation is the most certain way to protect profitability against external volatility," and called for advanced structural improvements to reduce costs through technology.

Jung also set out the goal of accelerating AX, which is key to future competitiveness. He said, "Let us aim to establish an autonomous AI system, 'Agentic AI,' that sets and executes its own goals, and promote the advancement of function-specific AI and the spread of AX culture." Agentic AI refers to a system in which AI can autonomously solve problems with minimal human intervention. The plan is to maximize productivity through AX across all areas, from research and development to production and quality.

Finally, Jung concluded his New Year's address by saying, "We must stand at the starting line with confidence and new ideas. Let us become a strong One Team based on mutual trust and make 2026 a year in which we achieve the results we desire."
