Three Levels, 2,985 Square Meters, 72 Parking Spaces
90% Discount for Sharosugil Shoppers Within 90 Minutes
Gwanak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Junhee) will officially begin operating the "Moraenae Park Public Parking Lot" from January 5, aiming to resolve the parking shortage in Sharosugil.
The Moraenae Park Public Parking Lot, located at 47, Nambusunhwan-ro 230-gil, Gwanak-gu, was completed last September after more than two years of construction. The facility spans 2,985 square meters from the first to the second basement level of the park. It offers a total of 72 parking spaces, including 11 spaces designated for people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. The district completed preparations for official operation through a trial run until December 2025, during which it inspected the facilities, assessed parking demand, and adjusted the allocation dates for monthly passes.
The parking lot operates 24 hours a day, year-round, offering both hourly and monthly parking options. Monthly parking is available through a resident-priority system and a lottery-based monthly subscription.
The district provides parking fee discounts to exemplary and meritorious taxpayers, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and national merit recipients. In particular, in collaboration with the local merchants' association, a 90% discount is offered for the first 90 minutes to visitors of the Sharosugil shopping district. Only the highest applicable discount rate will be applied, and discounts cannot be combined.
Gwanak-gu has completed the construction of a total of nine public parking lots during the 7th and 8th elected terms and plans to steadily proceed with the construction of the Euncheon Guksabong Public Parking Lot, Seorim-dong Haetae Park Public Parking Lot, and Daehak-dong Public Parking Lot in the future.
Mayor Park Junhee of Gwanak-gu stated, "The Moraenae Park Parking Lot will play a significant role in ensuring a pleasant experience for the approximately 140,000 daily visitors to the popular Sharosugil area and alleviating parking burdens for nearby residents. We will continue to expand parking infrastructure by utilizing idle land to improve business conditions and enhance the convenience of residents' daily lives."
