"Leaping Forward as a Future-Oriented City
Based on Four Core Implementation Standards:
Eco-Friendliness, Digital Administration, Livelihood Economy, and Everyday Safety"
Jongrae Jeong, Mayor of Yuseong District, Daejeon, stated in his 2026 New Year's address, "Over the past year, Yuseong District has advanced toward the future despite crises and challenges, achieving 'A Better Yuseong for All' through four major innovations: startups, communities, care, and culture." He added, "We will create a unique brand for Yuseong across all sectors, including the economy, administration, welfare, and arts and culture."
Mayor Jeong emphasized, "This year, we expect to face significant changes both internally and externally, such as global uncertainties, demographic shifts, the digital transformation, and discussions on administrative integration between Daejeon and South Chungcheong Province. Yuseong District will respond to these demands of the times by redefining its status and role, and we will not slow down our innovation."
He pledged, "To this end, Yuseong District will further advance the four major innovations and, based on four core implementation standards-eco-friendliness, digital administration, the livelihood economy, and everyday safety-will leap forward as a future-oriented city."
He also declared, "The four-character idiom for the district administration in 2026 is 'Yujigyeongseong,' which means 'where there is will, there is success.' With unwavering determination toward clear goals, we will build Yuseong into a small but strong premium local city."
