This donation was made through the Geumcheon-gu Employee Sponsorship Program. Since 2009, Geumcheon-gu has operated this initiative by having employees voluntarily donate a set amount each month, accumulate the funds over a year, and then make a collective donation at the end of the year.
This year, a total of 1,011 employees participated in the program, including Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yoo Seonghun, newly appointed staff, transferees, and retirees. The collected funds were donated to the Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign.
Additionally, on the 22nd of last month, employees took part in the Hope Sharing Campaign held at the donation kiosk installed in the lobby on the first floor of the district office, making an additional 84 donations totaling 2.28 million won.
The donated funds will be used to support the livelihood stability of vulnerable groups in Geumcheon-gu, including households in crisis who fall through the welfare safety net, elderly people living alone, and single-parent families.
Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yoo Seonghun stated, "The sharing by Geumcheon public officials is a meaningful initiative in which public servants empathize with the difficulties of local residents and put sharing into practice," adding, "This year as well, we will fulfill our duty as servants of the community and strive to further spread the warmth of sharing."
