Attracting 1,000 Companies to the Yangjae AI Special Zone
Promoting the Creation of a Green Pedestrian Network and More
Seongsoo Jeon, Mayor of Seocho District in Seoul, declared the beginning of the "Seocho Golden Era" by presenting four major visions in his New Year's address this year.
In his address on January 1, Mayor Jeon stated, "Throughout the 8th term of local government, Seocho has continued to innovate at every moment of challenge, making steady progress step by step and accumulating significant achievements that open up new possibilities." He added, "We will make a powerful leap forward and create an even brighter Seocho Golden Era."

Mayor Jeon outlined four key visions to be pursued this year: a vibrant economic city, a premium residential city, a city of everyday culture, and a city of future promises. To build a vibrant economic city, the district has designated 12 key alley commercial districts as alley-type shopping areas and will focus on supporting outstanding startups with the goal of attracting 1,000 artificial intelligence (AI) companies to the "Yangjae AI Special Zone" by 2030.
To realize a premium residential city, the district will strengthen reconstruction process management, expand "innovative public parking lots," and establish a "green pedestrian network." The city of everyday culture will be fostered by creating a "city where reading is part of daily life" and developing the "Goto·Sebitseom Tourism Special Zone" into a global, multi-purpose cultural tourism destination. For the city of future promises, the district will promote the "Seocho Town Integrated Development" project and the modernization of the express bus terminal.
Mayor Jeon emphasized, "This year as well, I will do my utmost to implement policies that enhance the quality of daily life for residents," and added, "I will continue to make Seocho a district that provides strong support for residents' lives through reliable policies."
