Gyeonggi Province will be accepting applications from nonprofit private organizations wishing to participate in its public interest activity support program for next year from January 5 to January 26, 2025.
Selected organizations will receive project funding ranging from a minimum of 5 million won to a maximum of 30 million won.
Eligible applicants are nonprofit private organizations registered in the province, and the program covers seven areas: ▲advancement of civil society and social integration, ▲realization of an innovative economy and fair society, ▲peaceful cooperation and national security, ▲social welfare, among others. Even if a project does not fall under the areas specified in the announcement, it may still be eligible if it has a synergistic or complementary effect with the province’s policy initiatives.
Organizations wishing to participate must submit their application form, project plan, a copy of their nonprofit private organization registration certificate, and other required documents online through the Local Subsidy Management System (Botaem-e, www.losims.go.kr).
The final selection will be made in early April by the Gyeonggi Province Public Interest Project Selection Committee, which will comprehensively review the organization’s capacity, the project’s suitability for public interest, feasibility, originality, impact, and budget validity.
Organizations that ranked highly in last year’s project evaluations may receive additional points. To ensure fair opportunities for new organizations, those that have been selected for Gyeonggi Province public interest projects for three to four consecutive years in the past will be deducted three points, and organizations that have received support for five consecutive years will be excluded from eligibility for one year and may reapply the following year.
Notably, starting next year, projects that are entirely for an organization’s promotion or commemorative events, projects focused solely on awarding scholarships, simple financial execution projects, projects targeting only the organization’s members, or projects aimed at increasing assets or purchasing property will be excluded from consideration.
In addition, to ensure substantial project implementation, interim checks and performance evaluations will be conducted, and the results will be reflected in the 2027 project selection. Each organization’s performance evaluation results will be released on the Gyeonggi Province website around April 2027.
A Gyeonggi Province official stated, “We will strive to ensure the voluntary activities of nonprofit private organizations and to vitalize public interest activities,” adding, “We look forward to the active participation of capable organizations.”
