Securing a Special Allocation Tax Incentive of 217.5 Million Won
On December 30, Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province announced that it had been selected as an excellent institution in the '2025 Disaster Management Evaluation', securing a Prime Minister's Commendation and a special allocation tax incentive of 217.5 million won.
According to the county, this evaluation, organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, has been conducted annually since 2005 to assess the disaster safety management status of 340 disaster management agencies (including 30 central government ministries, 67 public institutions, and 243 local governments) and to enhance the accountability and response capabilities of these institutions.

The evaluation consists of both a document review and an on-site assessment. During the on-site assessment conducted in February, the county demonstrated its commitment to prioritizing the safety of residents in field administration, and presented proactive preventive measures and a systematic response system for disaster vulnerabilities, receiving positive feedback from the evaluation team.
The financial incentive awarded as a result of this evaluation is also expected to boost the morale of staff in the Resident Safety Division and other departments responsible for disaster prevention and safety management work.
Cho Younggyun, head of the Resident Safety Division, stated, "Building on this achievement, we will further strengthen our disaster response capabilities and continue to advance proactive disaster prevention policies and field-oriented safety management systems, accelerating efforts to create a safe living environment that residents can truly experience."
