Busan Port Authority Labor and Management Conclude Wage and Collective Bargaining Agreement Without Disputes for 22 Consecutive Years

The labor union and management of Busan Port Authority (President Song Sanggeun, Union Leader Park Shinho) signed the 2025 wage and collective bargaining agreement on December 29.


Busan Port Authority set a record by concluding the wage and collective bargaining agreement without any labor disputes for the 22nd consecutive year. Based on a relationship of trust and respect, the labor and management teams held multiple working-level and main negotiations, prepared a draft agreement, and finalized the wage and collective bargaining agreement on the same day.

The revised wage and collective bargaining agreement includes the following provisions: a total personnel cost increase of no more than 3% compared to the previous year, in line with government guidelines; promotion of one day of remote work per week for pregnant employees; provision of a pre-retirement preparation period before retirement; and protection of working conditions in response to the introduction of AI. These measures are aimed at improving work efficiency and enhancing the working environment.


Song Sanggeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "Thanks to negotiations based on mutual trust and respect between labor and management, we have been able to conclude the wage and collective bargaining agreement without disputes for 22 consecutive years. Labor and management will continue to work as one team to meet public expectations and enhance the competitiveness of Busan Port."


Park Shinho, Union Leader of Busan Port Authority, said, "I would like to thank the management for their efforts in creating an environment where labor and management can grow together, and we will continue to maintain a cooperative and considerate labor-management relationship."
