This agreement was promoted to strengthen cooperation among the three organizations, aiming to minimize the financial burden associated with relocating residences by providing employees with a stable living environment in advance of the phased relocation of the Gyeonggi-do Agency.
According to the agreement, the Korea Land and Housing Corporation will review supply plans to utilize a portion of vacant units in public rental housing within Unjeong New Town as dormitories, while Paju City will be responsible for the move-in procedures and administrative support. The Gyeonggi-do Agency will establish internal procedures, including the selection of eligible employees and operational management, to ensure the actual move-in process proceeds smoothly.
Kim Kyungil, Mayor of Paju City, stated, "I expect this agreement will provide substantial support for the staff of the Gyeonggi-do Agency who will be settling in Paju, allowing them to live without concerns."
Kim Hyungon, President of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, remarked, "Reducing the housing burden for employees is a key factor for a successful relocation," adding, "I hope the cooperative system created by the three organizations will continue to serve as a good model in the future."
Im Sujeong, Director of Residential Welfare Business at the Northern Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, also commented, "It is an important role of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation for local governments and public institutions to join forces in addressing regional issues," and added, "We will actively cooperate in realizing social value by utilizing vacant units."
Paju City plans to coordinate specific details, such as the number of units and move-in criteria, through a working-level consultative body in the near future, and will soon begin procedures to support the prompt relocation of Gyeonggi-do Agency staff.
