On December 30, at the Seoul R.ENA Suite Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Younghoon attended the 'Joint Declaration by Labor, Management, and Government on Reducing Actual Working Hours and National Briefing Session.' Labor, management, and government have set a joint goal to lower South Korea's actual annual working hours to the OECD average of around 1,700 hours by 2030. They also agreed to jointly promote reforms to the working hours system and innovations in work practices to move away from the long working hours culture.
