Altercation Led to Spontaneous Attack
Police Investigation: "I Don't Remember Because I Was Drunk"
A Chinese national in his 50s was apprehended by police after stabbing a pedestrian in the face with a weapon and fleeing the scene on a street in Guro District, Seoul.
On the 28th, the Guro Police Station in Seoul announced that it had requested an arrest warrant for Mr. A, a Chinese man in his 50s, on charges of aggravated assault.
Mr. A is accused of stabbing a man in his 60s in the face with a weapon on the street at approximately 9:23 p.m. the previous day and then fleeing the scene.
It has been determined that Mr. A committed the crime while heavily intoxicated, using a weapon he brought from home. Based on witness statements and other evidence, the police believe that an altercation broke out between Mr. A and the victim's group, leading to the incident occurring spontaneously.
The victim suffered a laceration to his forehead and was transported to the hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening.
According to the police investigation, Mr. A was heavily intoxicated at the time of the crime and reportedly stated, "I don't remember because I was drunk."
